Starter plants, often called plant liners or plugs, are very young plants grown in long lines of trays to establish strong root systems. Keep starter plants in a well-ventilated and well-lit location to ensure fresh air. As the plants are young, watch their moisture level and keep out of direct sunlight. Due to their small 2” root base, they can dry out rapidly with overexposure. Keep starter plants upright and not laying down. Plant in desired container or garden as soon as the plant is ready. Please note that every starter plant variety is different and will have unique care requirements.

Emerging solid green, the 25" wide light green leaves begin turning butter cream-yellow along the center. The color then pours down into the main vein creating a huge bold Y-pattern in the center of the leaf. Color then bursts into the lateral (side) veins and begins its march to the margins. Coloring starts in spring, shortly after the first leaves mature. It sends out lots of side stolons which will root into the soil where moisture is adequate. The more moisture the larger the plant will grow.
