Lemon cypress is another name for the “Goldcrest” cultivar (which is what we grow) of the Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa), a tree that has a native range limited to the Monterey bay on the coast of central California.

The tree is characterized by bright yellow foliage and a narrow, conical habit with a heavy lemon scent.

It may grow to be up to 16 feet tall in it’s native habitat.

Lemon Cypress Topiary Care Instructions.

Water: Water immediately upon receipt. Afterwards, water regularly to keep soil moist but not soggy. In hot, dry weather, water deeply once a week.

Fertilizer: After the last spring frost, feed with a well-balanced, granular fertilizer.

It will thrive indoors but does not tolerate exposure to heaters.

Planting Guide:
If planting outdoore, it's best to plant in early spring to establish before heat of summer, or plant in early Fall.
Among the easiest of evergreens to transplant successfully.
Needs little or no pruning.
Best in partial shade. Full sun is good as long as it does not lack for water.
Under watered foliage burns in freezing wind and hot sun.
